The Vice Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, has disclosed that the University Management established Centre of Entrepreneurship to drive Gov Peter Mbah’s experiencial learning model in the University.
The Vice Chancellor further stated that the Centre would equip the students and staff of the University with requisite skills to make them financially independent.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the Centre at the permanent site of the University in Agbani on Wednesday, adding that 100-level students of the institution would be assigned impact-factor research topics which would be submitted in their final years.
He further stated that resource persons would be brought from outside the University to teach students relevant skills, adding that ESUT branded products would be commercialized to boost the revenue base of the University.
He equally said that the University would equally run certificate programme in entrepreneurship for non students and staff of the University.
He commended the General Manager of Ai-Igoche and Company Limited, Samuel Omale, for his integrity and excellent service delivery in the building of the Entrepreneurship Centre.
While handing over the Centre which was completed through TETFund intervention, the ESUT Director of TETFund, Dr. Onyekachi Egwuagu, stated that the edifice has been completed to perfectly actualize the purposes of the University Management.
The Centre which has e-learning, workshop and conference room compartments among other ancillaries, was furnished, landscaped and handed to the Director of the Centre, Professor Jude Udenta.
