Van Dijk charged for improper conduct

Virgil van Dijk has been charged by the English FA for improper conduct after he was red carded during a match against Newcastle united.

Reports claim his match suspension could further be extended.

The Football Association (FA) is being advised to impose a four-match suspension on Liverpool captain due to his “unacceptable conduct” subsequent to his red card against Newcastle. During the St James’ Park match, Referee John Brooks ejected Van Dijk in the first half for a foul on Alexander Isak.

As he exited the field, the Dutch captain directed a vehement verbal tirade at both Brooks and fourth official Craig Pawson.
