The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed its preparations for the forthcoming off-cycle Governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023.
As part of its preparations, INEC will conduct a mock accreditation using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and upload polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV). The mock accreditation exercise will occur simultaneously in the three states on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
INEC has identified a maximum of three polling units in each Senatorial District across the three states, totaling nine Senatorial Districts and 27 polling units for the mock exercise. The goal is to learn valuable lessons from the test run to ensure a seamless process on the actual Election Day.

Full details of the polling units, including their locations by Local Government Area (LGA), Registration Area (RA)/Ward, Delimitation Code, and the number of registered voters, have been uploaded to INEC’s website and social media platforms.
INEC urges registered voters in the selected polling units to participate in the mock accreditation exercise by bringing their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs). It emphasizes that the mock accreditation exercise is strictly for testing purposes and not the actual election.
These preparations demonstrate INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections and ensuring that all technical systems are in place for the smooth execution of the electoral process in the upcoming off-cycle Governorship elections.
