The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has advised Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to refrain from appealing the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal that upheld President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory.
Speaking to reporters after a courtesy visit to the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Umahi urged Obi not to pursue an appeal. He cited the interpretation of the judgement by his son, who is a lawyer, and indicated that there was little hope for a successful appeal.
Furthermore, Umahi called on political leaders in the South-East geopolitical zone to unite and support the Tinubu administration, emphasizing that Tinubu had appointed him as the number one minister in his government despite the region’s low voter turnout for him.

Umahi expressed his belief that Tinubu would be a divinely appointed President and revealed that he had received a divine message about Tinubu’s future presidency. He praised Governor Nwifuru for his achievements during his first 100 days in office and pledged his support for the state’s progress.
