Tinubu suspends fees increment indefinitely

President Bola Tinubu, Monday, issued a directive to Management of tertiary institutions in the country to suspend plans of sundry fees increases indefinitely.

This proactive move comes as various universities across the country have implemented a hike in miscellaneous fees. President Tinubu’s primary objective is to ensure that parents and students do not face undue difficulties in accessing higher education.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting students, President Tinubu also approved the provision of buses to the students’ bodies in all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide. This strategic decision seeks to address the rising transportation costs that often burden parents and guardians. While acknowledging the rise in such fees, the government emphasized that they do not affect tuition costs.
