Amidst criticism and concerns, President Bola Tinubu has taken decisive action by replacing the nominees representing Ondo and Cross River on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). This move comes as a response to mounting discontent, particularly within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The president’s directive has seen Victor Akinjo, the previous Ondo State representative, being replaced by Otito Atikase. Likewise, Asi Oku Okang, who had been the nominee for Cross River, has been substituted with Orok Otuk Duke.
The initial nominations of Akinjo and Okang had sparked significant controversy, drawing criticism from various quarters, including members of the APC.
