The Supreme Court has issued a ruling upholding the decision of the presidential petition tribunal, which favored Bola Tinubu and dismissed the appeal made by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
In a unanimous decision, the highest court in the land affirmed the findings of the presidential petition tribunal, with additional panel members concurring with the lead ruling delivered by Justice John Okoro.
The court also concurred with Justice Okoro’s position, dismissing Atiku Abubakar’s application, which was exchanged for Tinubu’s CSU (Certificate of Suitability for the Presidency).

The panel of justices on the Supreme Court, in addition to John Okoro, included Uwani Aji, Mohammed Garba, Ibrahim Saulawa, Adamu Jauro, Abubakar Tijjani, and Emmanuel Agim.
Justice Salawa Ibrahim, speaking on the matter, described Atiku’s application as “frivolous and vexatious” and deemed it worthy of dismissal. The Supreme Court affirmed the lower court’s decision, finding no merit in the appeal.
Furthermore, the court declared that the double nomination case should never have been brought before it.
This ruling represents a significant development in the ongoing legal battles concerning the presidential election, with the Supreme Court decisively supporting the tribunal’s decision, thus settling the matter once and for all.
