Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has strongly voiced his concerns over the potential appointment of a religious extremist with a fervent political agenda to a ministerial position.
In a tweet from his verified Twitter account, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emphasized that individuals holding fanatical beliefs should not occupy public office, warning that such a move could fuel violence and unrest.
Sani expressed apprehension about an unconfirmed ministerial nominee who displayed an air of arrogance and an obsession with power. He pointed out that bestowing such individuals with positions of authority could be detrimental to national peace.

He remarked, “The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; the one who was intoxicated with power and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power. A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.”
Sani also took the opportunity to comment on the composition of President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for ministerial roles. He classified the technocrats on the list as Tinubu’s assets, while labeling the former governors among the nominees as his liabilities. The list reportedly includes nine former governors, including figures like Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-Rufai, Dave Umahi, and Bello Matawalle, which has ignited discussions and debates among Nigerians.
As the debate over ministerial appointments continues, Sani’s remarks highlight the significance of selecting candidates who are committed to promoting unity and stability within the nation, rather than those who could potentially fuel division or extremism.
