Johnson also hinted at further announcements, citing approvals already granted by Governor Fubara as evidence of his willingness to pursue peace.
Furthermore, Johnson dismissed perceptions of weakness attributed to Fubara’s acceptance of the decisions made during the meeting on Monday, underlining the governor’s persistent adherence to norms and pledges.
Meanwhile, Rivers State House of Assembly members affiliated with Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared their commitment to continue carrying out their legislative responsibilities for the advancement of the state. They retracted the impeachment notice against Governor Fubara, citing President Tinubu’s participation as a significant factor, presided over by Martin Amaewhule.
In a statement released in Port Harcourt and signed by the Speaker’s media aide, Martins Wachukwu, the lawmakers praised Tinubu’s pivotal role in resolving the state’s political crisis. The statement indicated the formal withdrawal of the impeachment notice during the Assembly’s 89th Legislative Sitting at the House of Assembly quarters.
