The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the February 3, 2024 re-run election in Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, Simon Atigwe, on Thursday, called on voters to be law-abiding during the election.
The ex-lawmaker equally called on voters to turn out en masse to exercise their franchise, adding that security agencies were already on ground to guarantee security of voters during the exercise.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, annulled the election of the Labour Party candidate, Denis Agbo, and mandated the electoral umpire to conduct fresh election in 176 , out of 532 polling units in the federal constituency following an application filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oby Ajih.

However, reacting to the chances of PDP, getting victory during the re-run election, Atigwe, said that the number of votes being contested for were enough to give him victory.
He further said that he is depending on God and the electorates in his constituency to return him to the National Assembly.
Atigwe came second in the earlier election while the candidate of the APC, Ajih came third.
