A Professor of Digital Twin Technology and Information Systems Engineering, Paul Eke, would be the chairman of the occasion during the 20th Herbert Macaulay Memorial Lecture, HMML, scheduled between May 3rd to 4th, 2024.
Prof. Eke, who is a personnel of the Royal Academy of Engineering, University of Leeds, United Kingdom, is an international scholar with research interests on Digital Twin Technology, digitalization, water and wastewater plants and engineering systems, and Artificial Intelligence among others.
The HMML is organized by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, to honour the foremost nationalist, Herbert Macaulay, and other lecturers who have made outstanding contributions to national development.

The statement released by the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, UNN, Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, yesterday in Nsukka disclosed that the General Director of Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, Clement Onyeaso Nze, would be the Lead Speaker.
He said that Nze would dwell on the topic ‘ Practical Implications of Hydrological Data: Applications in Agriculture and Environment Management.’
Prof. Ejiogu, equally stated that the 20th HMML would be delivered by the Managing Director of Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, on the topic: ‘Championing Innovation: A Look at Digital Transformation and Economic Diversification in Nigeria.’
Prof. Ejiogu who is also the Director, Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development, ACE-SPED, further said that one of the highlights of the 20th HMML would be the inauguration of the Engineering Alumni Class of ’85 building donated to the Faculty by Major General Okechukwu Ugo, and his group, otherwise called the Agbebi 85.

In a statement by Major General Ugo, the motivation for the building of the multipurpose three-floor edifice stems from the spirit of giving back to their Alma Mater.
He also said “Education remains the catalyst for change, the cornerstone of development, and the solid foundation upon which the future is built. Recognizing this, the benefactors envisioned a space that would not only facilitate learning but also inspire innovation, foster collaboration, and cultivate a sense of community and inclusiveness,” he said.
