In a significant move geared towards restructuring pivotal federal agencies, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed Alexander Okoh, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), and Babatunde Irukera, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
The announcement, made by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, signaled the immediate termination of Okoh and Irukera’s tenures.
Okoh, who assumed the role of BPE DG in April 2017, and Irukera, initially the Director-General of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) before transitioning to the FCCPC, faced removal as part of a broader strategy aimed at revitalizing crucial federal agencies.
