President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Deputy Comptroller-General Kemi Nanna Nandap as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
The announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
DCG Kemi Nanna Nandap is set to assume the position of Comptroller-General from March 1, 2024, succeeding Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure concludes on February 29, 2024. Prior to her appointment as the head of the NIS, Nandap served as the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the Migration Directorate of the Service.

President Tinubu expressed his anticipation that the new Comptroller-General would build on the ongoing reforms within the NIS, establishing a robust mechanism for efficient and dedicated service delivery to Nigerians. The statement emphasized the importance of strengthening the nation’s security through proactive and effective border security and migration management.
This move follows the President’s approval in December 2023 of Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju as the substantive Comptroller-General of the NIS. Adepoju, who had been serving in an acting capacity since June 1, 2023, brought a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of the Finance and Account Directorate.
As the new leadership takes charge of the NIS, expectations are high for continued reforms and enhanced services, contributing to national security and efficient migration management. President Tinubu’s strategic appointments align with the administration’s commitment to fostering positive change and progress within critical sectors of the country.
