Philip Shaibu Rejoins APC, Declares Commitment to Reclaim Edo State

In a significant political development, Comrade Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shaibu made the announcement at the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council in Benin City, marking a notable shift in the state’s political landscape.

Joining Shaibu in this political transition were several prominent members of the PDP’s Legacy Group, led by Dan Orbih. Shaibu, addressing the crowd, underscored the group’s dedication to strengthening their political efforts. “I announce our move to the APC on behalf of the Legacy Group,” Shaibu declared. “Our purpose is to enhance the celebration. The time to reclaim our state is now. Since action will speak for us, we won’t talk too much. We’re prepared to move forward and are not afraid.”

Shaibu’s return to the APC signals a renewed push for the party’s influence in Edo State. He expressed confidence in the APC governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, emphasizing their readiness to reclaim political control. “We the homebody, Monday Okpebholo, the APC governorship candidate, and Dennis Idahosa, his running mate, are prepared to retake our state,” he asserted.

In a symbolic gesture of reconciliation, Shaibu also publicly knelt before Senator Adams Oshiomhole, his former political mentor, to the enthusiastic applause of attendees. This act marked a moment of political and personal reconciliation, signaling a potential new chapter in their relationship and collaboration.
