PhD Student Position – Warsaw, Poland

A fully-funded PhD position is available for a period of four years at the Museum and Institute of Zoology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. The position is part of a project funded by the National Science Centre, Warsaw, Poland, focusing on the evolution of flightless arthropods in the Central Asian arid zone, using the tribe Dorcadionini (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) as a model group to study ring species and mixed geographic modes of speciation.

Project Description:
The project aims to investigate the evolutionary processes that drive speciation in flightless arthropods in the Central Asian arid zone. The selected PhD candidate will be part of this exciting research endeavor, studying the phylogenetics and ring speciation patterns in the diverse tribe Dorcadionini. The research will involve fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
