- Project Overview: Join as a full-time PhD researcher in energy economics to explore the flexibility of electricity demand. This project aims to adapt and optimize electricity consumption patterns, particularly concerning the increased use of electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy sources like wind and solar.
- Key Focus: Your research will span energy economics, applied microeconomics, and applied econometrics. By leveraging both public and private data, you will play a pivotal role in advancing flexible energy demand and smart charging solutions.
PhD Supervision:
You will work under the guidance of Prof. Marten Ovaere and Dr. Sam Hamels at the Department of Economics of Ghent University. The department is home to an extensive network of faculty, post-docs, and Ph.D. students with a shared focus on research and policy relevance.
