About the Group:
The Sebastian Zoll Group is dedicated to understanding the structural basis of interactions between surface proteins of parasites and viruses with human host factors. Their research is driven by the ambition to foster the development of innovative therapeutic strategies against neglected diseases. The lab is well-funded and supported by an extensive network of international collaborators, offering excellent opportunities for additional training in foreign host institutions.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will adopt an integrated structural biology approach, utilizing techniques such as single particle cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, and small-angle X-ray scattering. They will also employ a wide range of biophysical techniques for the characterization of protein-protein interactions, including SPR, ITC, MALS, and MST. The position will include practical training in a protein biochemistry lab and processing of structural data using Linux workstations.

Requirements:
What is expected from candidates:

• An M.Sc. in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• A strong interest in structural biology.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and the motivation and commitment to design experiments and interpret results independently.
• Experience in structural biology techniques is not required, but familiarity with recombinant protein expression and protein purification will be a plus.
• Proficiency in both oral and written English is a prerequisite.
