This position is available for a period of 3 years, with an immediate start date or a mutually agreed-upon date. The position is part-time (65% of regular working hours) with salary and benefits corresponding to a public service position in the state of Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65%).
These positions are within the ERC Advanced Grant project “KIWIsome,” funded by the European Union, which focuses on the role of proteins in plant defense against pathogens.

Tasks:
- Developing an original research project with a high degree of independence, studying novel components of the plant immune system against pathogenic invaders.
- Collaborating in a multidisciplinary international environment.
- Contributing to research through publications and conference participation.
These tasks provide the opportunity for independent scientific work to support your own scientific qualification. The time limit is governed by § 2 (1) Sentence 1 WissZeitVG.
Profile:
- Successful degree from a university or equivalent higher education institution (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in the field of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or molecular plant pathology.
- Experience in working with plants and/or microorganisms, especially plant pathogens.
- Proficiency in molecular biology and/or biochemistry.
- Strong interest in uncovering molecular mechanisms.
- Independent and autonomous thinking.
- Motivated and enthusiastic team player.
An expectation exists for candidates to have the motivation to achieve their own scientific qualification (e.g., through a doctoral project in the field of biochemistry/microbiology).
