The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has apprehended a 39-year-old pastor, Michael Ogundepo, on charges related to an alleged visa scam.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Aidamenbor Daniel, Ogundepo is accused of obtaining ₦1.67 million from one Miss Fagbuyiro Ajetomobi-Yemi under the pretext of procuring a visa for her. Ogundepo reportedly withheld both the money and the complainant’s passport for two months, preventing her from applying for another visa.
Despite multiple invitations from the command, Ogundepo allegedly evaded authorities, claiming to be abroad and using a fake international number to communicate with the complainant. He was eventually arrested when he was invited to collect ₦3,000,000 for a visa job, unaware that it was a bait operation.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had reportedly defrauded several other unsuspecting clients. Ogundepo is expected to face charges under Section 419 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 37, Vol. 1 of Ondo State, 2006.
This case underscores the importance of vigilance and due diligence when dealing with individuals or organizations promising services related to immigration and visas. Authorities are actively working to curb fraudulent activities in this regard to protect the public from scams and scams.
