In a commanding performance at the Paris 2024 skateboarding competition, defending champion Keegan Palmer of Australia successfully retained his title in the men’s park final on Wednesday.
Palmer, the reigning Olympic gold medalist from Tokyo 2020, showcased his skills against fierce competition from Brazil and the United States.
Palmer led the field of 22 with an impressive 93.78 in his first run, setting the tone for the finals. His opening score of 93.11 in Wednesday’s final proved unbeatable, as neither Tom Schaar of the U.S., Pedro Barros, nor Augusto Akio from Brazil could surpass it. Schaar, who had struggled with falls in his subsequent runs, ultimately secured the silver medal with a score of 92.23 in his second attempt. Akio rounded out the podium with a bronze, scoring 91.85 in his third run.
