The Delta State Police Command has reported the arrest of more than 100 suspected homosexuals who were allegedly participating in a same-sex wedding ceremony at a hotel in Delta state.
The police made the announcement through their official social media handle and stated their intention to parade the suspects soon.
The incident comes in the wake of the 2014 anti-gay law, which imposes a 14-year prison sentence on individuals convicted of engaging in same-sex activities. Since the enactment of the law, cases of arrests and parades of individuals believed to be involved in homosexual activities have been reported across Nigeria.

In recent years, there have been similar incidents, such as the arrest of 10 individuals suspected of homosexual activities in a Lagos brothel in December 2020, the parading of 57 men for alleged homosexual activities in a Lagos hotel in 2018, and the arrest of eight alleged homosexuals in a Lagos hotel in January 2022.
The issue of homosexuality remains a contentious topic in Nigeria, reflecting the broader societal debates around social norms and human rights.
