The decision was reached during an emergency meeting of the university’s Senate held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

In the Faculties of Technology and Science, new students will now pay N163,200, with returning students paying N101,200. Previously, these students paid N28,100.
Students newly admitted to the Faculty of Pharmacy and the College of Health Sciences will pay N190,200, while returning students will pay N128,200. Faculty of Pharmacy students paid N31,100 per session before the change.
The university’s management clarified that these adjusted fees are for one academic session.
The announcement comes after reports of the introduction of a N100,000 “medical professional fee” for students at the College of Health Sciences, leading to concerns and discussions among students and university officials.
In 2018, medical students at OAU had rejected the introduction of an N85,000 professional training fee. The recent adjustments aim to address the financial aspects of the university’s operations and provide clarity on student fees for the upcoming academic year.
