The President of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NSCCIMA, Barr. Sam Otoboeze, on Thursday, said that the people of Nsukka cultural zone were yet turn the huge natural resources in the zone into economic prosperity for the sustainable development of the people.
Barr. Otoboeze, said that NSCCIMA is ready to provide the linkage between entrepreneurs in the zone and key industry players for direct foreign investment.
He assured that the Chamber would help to expose all the natural resources in the zone such as Ose Nsukka, honey, Nsukka palm oil, cashew among others for direct foreign investment, regretting that the people of the zone had been shortchanged by middlemen in the past.

He made the disclosure during the 2024 first quarterly meeting of NSCCIMA, at Ikenga Hotels in the university town of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
He enjoined businesses and entrepreneurs in the zone to partner NSCCIMA for the sustainable economic growth of the zone.
“The zone is already blessed with a lot of natural resources; it is a cashew zone, Nsukka honey which is the best in the world is in abundance, our land grows cassava without fertilizer , ethanol is what everybody is looking out for in this time , our palm oil is exemplary and unique.
“People come here to buy these products at a very cheap rates and label them their own products whereas we are the original producers. We want our people to own their products. The zone is blessed and the chamber is ready to expose the blessings of the zone, to the outside world” he said.
In his remarks, the Director General, NSCCIMA, Uchenna Nnadi, said that the Chamber used the quarterly meeting to discuss its annual plan and to review other things that would make the Chamber achieve its objectives for the year.
Nnadi said that the Chamber equally interfaced with business owners and entrepreneurs in the zone to know their challenges in order to play an advocacy roles for them.

He said that Nsukka zone being the gateway between the North and Eastern Nigeria, also has rivers which powered the most significant farm settlement then, known as Adani farm settlement. He also said that Adada River also in the zone powered the only cattle ranch that was in South East , adding that the zone also has the Ogurugu Sea Port in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The former President of the Chamber, Basil Onugu, while speaking with newsmen, said that the Chamber is ready to provide trainings and skills acquisition to entrepreneurs from the zone.
He equally said that it would help in preparing business plans for entrepreneurs and in helping to access federal government’s grants.
The high point of the meeting was the inauguration of the women and youth wings of NSCCIMA.
