Notable Nollywood Actor Among Billionaire Kidnappers Killed by Police in Lagos

In a stunning revelation, Prince Henry Ode, a well-known Nollywood actor and producer from Port Harcourt, was confirmed to be among the nine kidnappers killed by police in Lagos.

The police had been pursuing this notorious group, known for terrorizing Lagos and its environs, culminating in a fatal encounter at the Ladipo auto spare parts market.

The dramatic incident unfolded as the kidnappers attempted to abduct a wealthy businessman. Following the shootout, detectives launched an intensive investigation to identify the deceased kidnappers. Their efforts revealed Ode’s deep involvement in the criminal activities.

Detectives discovered critical evidence in the pockets of the slain kidnappers, including four cell phones. A significant breakthrough came when it was determined that two Jeeps used by the kidnappers, a Lexus 350 and a 4 Runner, were registered in Ode’s name. Further examination of the cell phones showed they were also registered to him, despite containing images of unidentified individuals and fictitious addresses.

As the investigation progressed, one of the deceased was identified as a twin who lived in a Lagos suburb. His brother reportedly fled their home upon learning of his sibling’s demise. This identification was bolstered by a WhatsApp user who claimed to recognize five of the kidnappers, noting their frequent visits to a local bar. A barmaid confirmed their identity, recalling how they had attended her birthday celebration, flaunting their wealth and being the center of attention.

Police efforts to track down other members of the gang continue, with one fugitive traced to a northern city. Detectives are also monitoring another known gathering place for the gang in Lagos, aiming to apprehend additional suspects.

The kidnappers had employed military-style uniforms and accessories, which allowed them to evade police checkpoints and remain undetected for an extended period. Camouflage uniforms were among the items found in their vehicles.

The successful police operation has been met with gratitude from the community. Executive members of the Ladipo market visited Lagos State Police Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade, praising the police for their efforts in driving out criminals and presenting a certificate of appreciation. Local hoteliers and business owners also reported a boost in their businesses, attributing it to the increased sense of safety allowing customers to venture out at night.
