Nigerian Troops Rescue 35 Kidnapped Victims, Neutralize 2 Terrorists in Katsina State Operation

In a significant achievement, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI in Katsina state, as part of a well-coordinated clearance operation, successfully rescued 35 kidnapped victims and neutralized 2 terrorists.

The operation took place during a search and rescue mission in the Dumburum forest on January 27, 2024, according to a statement released by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, Information Officer for Operation HADARIN DAJI.

The joint task force, comprising various security units, engaged in the operation encountered armed terrorists in the Dumburum forest. During the encounter, the troops neutralized 2 terrorists, and while others managed to escape, they reportedly sustained severe gunshot wounds.

The rescued victims, comprising 19 males, 12 females, and 4 children, were promptly handed over to the Katsina state Government. Brigadier General OA Fadairo, the Commander of 17 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Operation HADARIN DAJI, personally delivered the victims and pledged to persist in the fight against terrorist enclaves.

The success of this operation underscores the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian security forces to address the challenges of insurgency and kidnapping in the North West region. The commitment to the rescue mission and the neutralization of terrorists reflects the determination to restore peace and security to the affected areas.
