In a dramatic turn of events, a private aircraft carrying Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, crash-landed in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The incident unfolded on a Friday evening and involved an aircraft registered as 5N-AMM. Remarkably, all seven passengers, including the minister and three cabin crew members, were successfully rescued from the aircraft after it skidded off runway 22.
According to a preliminary report, the incident occurred about 08:25 a.m., forcing the plane to swerve off the runway and land in a neighboring bush. Concerned about the loss of communication with the landed aircraft, the control tower dispatched the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS), Aviation Security (AVSEC), and other airport staff immediately.

Following an emergency conference with airport department managers, it was established that no one was killed in the crash-landing. The runway lighting system was also operating at the time.
