Nigerian gospel musician and radio talk show host, Bolaji Olarewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji, has passed away.
His family confirmed the sad news in a statement issued on Saturday, noting that he died after a brief illness. The statement reads in part: “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, fondly known as ‘Big B’—a beloved husband, father, brother, ordained Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and a towering figure in the gospel music scene and our wider community.”
The statement further revealed that Big Bolaji passed on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025. The family also mentioned that details regarding his funeral arrangements will be communicated soon.
Big Bolaji, who only recently celebrated his 50th birthday, began his music journey with the group J’apha and remained a vibrant voice in the gospel music ministry until his passing.
