In a bid to maintain peace and security within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility, the Nigerian Army (NA) has pledged to continue its collaboration with sister services and other security agencies.
This assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Muhammad Abdullahi, to the Headquarters of 81 Division NA.
Major General Muhammed Usman, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division NA, expressed satisfaction with the existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy (NN). He reaffirmed the division’s commitment to enhancing and sustaining this partnership in the interest of national security.

General Usman further conveyed that Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, consistently encourages officers and soldiers of the NA to maintain professionalism during joint operations. This commitment has ensured that the Nigerian Army maintains a strong and productive relationship with the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies.
During the meeting, the need for constant communication between the two services was emphasized to enhance understanding and cooperation. The General Officer Commanding stressed the importance of jointness in achieving successful outcomes during operations within the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Rear Admiral Abdullahi, in his visit, aimed to acquaint himself with the officers and soldiers of the Division as he assumes command as the 43rd FOC Western Naval Command in Lagos. He reiterated the significance of joint operations and collaboration among the armed services, noting that no single service can handle all security challenges alone. Rear Admiral Abdullahi also congratulated Major General Usman on his recent appointment as the 24th GOC of 81 Division NA, wishing him a successful tenure.
