The Nigerian Army has refuted any collaboration with the private military company formed by former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo.
The Army has made it clear that it has no involvement or partnership with Asari-Dokubo’s security outfit.
Asari-Dokubo recently announced the establishment of a private military company that he claimed was engaged by the Nigerian government to work alongside the military in certain states.

However, the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, emphasized that the authenticity of Asari-Dokubo’s assertion could only be verified by the relevant agency responsible for licensing such entities.
In a statement, Brigadier General Nwachukwu clarified that the Nigerian Army has never participated in any operation with Asari-Dokubo’s private company. He further reiterated that the Army has not entered into any collaborative pact or partnership with the former militant leader’s organization.
Nwachukwu stated, “Contrary to his claims, the Nigerian Army has never conducted any operation jointly or side by side with Asari or the organisation he represents, in any of those areas he mentioned or in any Asari Dokubo theatre of operations.”
This development highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in matters of security and military operations. Asari-Dokubo’s claim has drawn attention to the need for proper regulation and oversight of private security entities to ensure that they operate within legal and ethical boundaries.
