The Nigerian Army have initiated the solemn process of laying to rest more than 20 officers and soldiers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty during a confrontation with terrorists in Niger State.
Last week, the military disclosed that a total of 36 personnel were tragically killed, some during an ambush by terrorists on the Zungeru-Tegina Road and others due to a subsequent jet crash in the Chukuba region of Shiroro, both situated in Niger State.
Reports from the ongoing burial ceremony indicate the presence of dignitaries such as the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, along with the State Minister for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa. The somber event underscores the sacrifices made by these brave officers and soldiers in their mission to protect the nation from terrorist threats.
