National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives apprehended a 39-year-old individual named Asana Leke on Thursday, September 7, along the Mokwa-Jebba Road.
They seized 399 improvised explosive devices from him, which he claimed were given to him in Ibadan, Oyo State, with instructions to deliver them to someone in Kaduna. Leke and the recovered explosives have been handed over to military authorities in Niger State.
Beyond their drug control efforts, NDLEA state commands and units have been actively conducting advocacy campaigns against drug abuse in various locations, including schools, places of worship, royal palaces, and local communities.

NDLEA also reported successful operations, such as the seizure of 20 kilograms of skunk concealed within tomato pastes at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Friday, September 8. Additionally, they confiscated a methamphetamine shipment weighing 1.60 kilograms at a courier company in Lagos.
Another operation involved intercepting 556 grams of Canadian Loud sent from Canada to Tunji Adebayo in Ikorodu, Lagos, leading to Adebayo’s brother’s arrest for signing for the package on his behalf. In a separate raid, NDLEA operatives seized 1,101 kilograms of Ghanaian Loud and arrested three suspects in Akala, Mushin, Lagos.
In Ogun State, they arrested Yinka Azeez in Abeokuta after seizing 41 kilograms of cannabis from Titilayo Adetayo at Sagumu Interchange. Various arrests were made in different locations, including Kano, Anambra, Kaduna, Edo, Yobe, and Imo States, with significant drug seizures.
Moreover, after over two months of surveillance, NDLEA operatives arrested a wanted kingpin named Idoko Ifesinachi, 40, linked to the importation of 76.9 kilograms of Canadian Loud intercepted at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex on June 2. He was apprehended in Lagos and transported to Port Harcourt for further proceedings.
