Naira Marley and Sam Larry, well-known figures, have initiated a fundamental rights lawsuit challenging their prolonged detainment in connection with the passing of 27-year-old singer Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Aloba.
This legal action, filed before the Federal High Court in Lagos, lists the police and Lagos magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun as defendants, as she ordered their custody for 21 days.
Both Naira Marley and Sam Larry are individually seeking N20 million in damages from the defendants. Through their lawyer, Mr. Olalekan Ojo (SAN), they request the court to acknowledge that their continued detention at the Homicide Section of the Lagos State Police Command constitutes a violation of their rights and demand their immediate release.
