Group Captain B. Topman, the newly appointed Commandant of Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, wants to cooperate more closely with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to combat economic and financial crimes at airports across the country.
During his visit to the EFCC’s Enugu Zonal Command, Topman emphasized the EFCC’s critical role in improving airport operations efficiency and stated his desire to collaborate.
Topman stressed that he had previously assisted the EFCC in the arrest of individuals or suspected wanted by the Commission at airports in Kaduna, Kano, and Port Harcourt. He emphasized his team’s readiness to work with the Enugu Zonal Command to ensure the seamless running of the airport.

In response, the Enugu Zonal Commander, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE 1 Aliyu Naibi, congratulated the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its continuous support to the Commission. He stressed the necessity of sustained collaboration between the two agencies and its potential to improve their efficacy in serving the public, especially given the country’s ongoing challenges.
