Previously, during an inspection of Lagos Airport on August 31, 2023, the Honourable Minister set a deadline of October 1, 2023, for the airline relocation. However, due to safety concerns arising from a recent fire outbreak at the old international terminal, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has accelerated the relocation process.
Passengers and stakeholders are urged to exercise patience and understanding during this transitional phase, as the inconveniences experienced will be addressed promptly. The task force’s primary objectives are as follows:
- Resolve Passenger Concerns: The task force is committed to addressing passenger concerns regarding congestion, discomfort, and other issues stemming from the terminal relocation.
- Minimize Discomfort: Efforts will be made to minimize any discomfort during the transition, including streamlining processes, improving signage, and providing dedicated support staff.
- Effective Public Communication: FAAN will maintain transparency by providing regular updates on progress and improving public relations strategies.
The Honourable Minister extends apologies for any inconvenience caused and assures all travelers of the government’s commitment to swiftly address these concerns. Passenger comfort, safety, and satisfaction remain paramount during this transitional period. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.
