Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, has revealed plans to introduce a verification system for businesses on the popular messaging platform.
During a media briefing, Meta’s VP of business messaging, Nikila Srinivasan, shared details of the forthcoming feature.
This verification system will enable businesses on WhatsApp to undergo a verification process by Meta, indicating to users that they are indeed communicating with the authentic business.

Once verified, businesses will receive a verified badge, improved account support, and protection against impersonation.
Meta’s VP emphasized, “For businesses interested in signing up, Meta Verified will come with additional premium features, including the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers. We’ll begin testing Meta Verified soon with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app before introducing it to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.”
In addition to the verification feature, Meta announced the launch of a new feature called “Flows.” Flows will enable businesses to offer a broader range of services without users needing to exit the chat. This feature will empower businesses to provide rich menus and customizable forms to meet various customer needs. Flows will soon be available to businesses worldwide through the WhatsApp Business Platform.
These new developments reflect Meta’s commitment to enhancing the business and user experience on WhatsApp, making it a more effective platform for business-customer interactions.
