LP Faction Commends Supreme Court’s Ruling on Presidential Election

The Labour Party factional group led by Lamidi Apapa has stated that it supports the recent ruling by the Supreme Court upholding President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election that was held on February 25, 2023.

In a statement, Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, the spokesperson for the party section, thanked President Tinubu and urged generosity in the wake of victory.

Arabambi emphasized how important the Supreme Court’s ruling was in resolving the disputes related to the elections for the National Assembly and the presidency. He hoped that President Tinubu would show kindness by cooperating with the leadership of the Labour Party to advance the development of an inclusive administration for the benefit of Nigeria.

The statement went on to commend President Tinubu’s win and said it was a justifiable result. In addition to recognizing Tinubu’s background as a two-term governor of Lagos State, Arabambi praised his resolve and dedication in achieving his long-term political goals.

Furthermore, the spokesperson for the Labour Party expressed gratitude to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, for his outstanding performance during the election and the ensuing legal challenges.

Speaking for the executive members of the party, Arabambi urged all the candidates who did not win—including Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party—to accept the election results and work with the administration to advance Nigeria. The faction’s resolve to back President Tinubu’s administration for the benefit of the nation is reflected in the statement.
