The newly appointed Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, has pledged a commitment to transparency within the construction sector and a strong stance against building collapses.
Dr. Olumide shared this commitment on Wednesday as he officially assumed his role, generating high expectations from the ministry’s stakeholders.
His inauguration took place at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja, led by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Dr. Olumide, accompanied by Dr. Olajide Babatunde, the Special Adviser for e-GIS and Urban Planning, expressed his dedication to building upon past achievements and introducing progressive measures to enhance the sector.

Dr. Babatunde, returning to his post, also called for continued cooperation and teamwork. The duo was warmly received by Engr. Oluwole Sotire, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Surv. Ayokunu Adeshina, the Surveyor-General of Lagos State, and the general managers of various agencies, along with senior management personnel from the ministry.
