Kidnappers Target UNTH: Deputy Director, Security Man Abducted

In yet another alarming incident, armed hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers launched an attack on the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku Ozalla, Enugu State, on Tuesday morning.

This recent assault comes on the heels of a previous incident earlier this year, where a resident doctor was abducted from the hospital premises but managed to escape from captivity.

According to reports, the kidnappers targeted a female deputy director of the hospital and a security guard in their latest attack. An SUV belonging to the abducted woman, a nurse, was found abandoned with bullet-perforated glass on the front passenger side, as captured in a viral video.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the police nor the hospital management have officially confirmed the incident. However, a reliable source verified the occurrence, noting that it took place at the same location where a medical doctor was abducted a few weeks prior.

The repeated attacks have left hospital staff members distressed and concerned for their safety, with one lamenting, “This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous.”
