India Council for Cultural Relationship Awards Scholarships to 20 Nigerians

Abuja, Nigeria – The India Council for Cultural Relationship (ICCR) has bestowed scholarships upon 20 talented Nigerians, providing them with fully sponsored opportunities for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in India.

The Government of India, through the ICCR, will support these students as they embark on their educational journeys, further strengthening the educational ties between Nigeria and India.

During a farewell reception held in Abuja, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gangadharan Balasubramanian, expressed his delight in awarding the scholarships to these exceptional students. He highlighted the rigorous selection process that took place, with the 20 beneficiaries standing out from a pool of 2000 applicants.

“You are the crème of the selection. We are very happy to see each one of you undergoing this whole process of selection and currently proceeding to India for your higher education,” Balasubramanian commended.

The Indian envoy also commended the choice of study fields made by two doctoral students specializing in mathematics and plant pathology.
