A historic celebration took place in the ancient Ozzi Osegbe Kingdom of Igbo-Eze North LGA, on Wednesday, April 23rd, as Hon. Michael Uche Ogalla, the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze North, was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Eze Udo I of Ozzi.
Translating to “King of Peace,” the title was bestowed upon Hon. Ogalla by the revered elders of Ozzi Kingdom, led by the eldest man of Ozzi, Agu Sylvester Ayogu Apeh (Ezeoha, Onyishi of Ozzi Osegbe). The honour recognized Hon. Ogalla’s exceptional leadership, commitment to peaceful coexistence, and his substantial contributions to the development of Igbo-Eze North LGA of Enugu State.
The ceremony served as a powerful endorsement from the Ozzi Osegbe people, reaffirming their admiration for Hon. Ogalla’s inclusive and visionary leadership.
Hon. Ogalla, expressed his appreciation to the Elders in Council of the Ozzi Osegbe Ancient Kingdom and the good people of Ozzi. He pledged to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Igbo-Eze North, anchored on the principles of Justice, Equity, Transparency, and Accountability (JETA).
He equally expressed appreciation to the Council Chairmen (ALGON) and all other special guests from within and outside the State for finding time to grace the occasion.
Dignitaries from across Enugu State graced the colourful occasion, including: Rt. Hon. Simon Chukwuemeka Atigwe, former Representative for Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency; Hon. Ejike Jude Eze, Chief Whip Enugu State House of Assembly and member representing Umuozzi in the State House of Assembly; Hon. Clifford Nnaemeka Obe, Member representing Igbo-Eze North State Constituency II; Hon. Nath Urama, Hon. Commissioner for Finance; Representative of the Hon. Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs.
Others include: Hon. Sydney Edeh, Chairman of Nkanu East and ALGON Chairman, Enugu State; Hon. Barr. Ugo Ferdinand, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South and Deputy ALGON Chairman; Council Chairmen of the various Local Government Areas of Enugu State; Hon. Joe Abah Idenyi, Vice Chairman of Igbo-Eze North; Hon. Onyekachi Ben Eya, Secretary to the Local Government Council; Hon. Dr. Solomon Ogili, PDP Chairman of Igbo-Eze North; HRM Igwe Cyril Ayogu, Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers, Igbo-Eze North; Former Council Chairmen; Former State Assembly Members; Councillors; Traditional rulers, and political appointees.
Also, in attendance were captains of industries, clergy members, and distinguished personalities from within and outside the local government area.
