“The Vice Chancellor has been diligent in following up and completing many abandoned projects in the University. He has also been diligent in ensuring that once students complete their academic programmes, they get their certificates. This is no mean achievement because the processes of getting certificates in some institutions is difficult, which sometimes, make candidates, especially those who want to study overseas to miss their admissions.

We have also noted the fact that the Vice Chancellor is making efforts to return the University into actually being a University of science and technology,” he said.
The ICAN president also said that the Institute introduced ICAN Accountancy Challenge to deepen intellectual capacity of students studying Accountancy in ICAN accredited tertiary institutions, adding that students who get 1st positions in the challenge would be encouraged with N1,000,000, while the 2nd and 3rd positions would get N500,000, and N300,000 respectively.
While encouraging ESUT Management to avail their students for this challenge, he equally announced that the Institute has commissioned research in which faculties that scale through receive up to N2.5 million for cutting-edge research endeavours, adding that the Institute equally supports their Professorial inaugural lecturers with the sum of N1,000,000.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor of ESUT, Professor Okolie, while thanking the Institute for considering ESUT as one their branches, said that the Management of the University has made it compulsory for all the academic staff to belong to their professional bodies.
Prof. Okolie who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Chike Nwoha, lauded ICAN for being in the forefront in the fight for prudent financial management in Nigeria.
He also thanked the Institute for choosing ESUT staff, Prof. Onyekwelu, as the pioneer chairman of ICAN, Agbani District Society.
