Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, recently embarked on a working visit to Hungary to explore investment prospects and potential partnerships in various sectors.
The Governor’s visit to Hungary followed a meeting with the Hungarian Deputy Ambassador in August, where discussions centered on investment opportunities spanning agriculture, healthcare, education, security, and accessible drinking water in Abia State.
During his visit, Governor Otti had the opportunity to assess these opportunities firsthand and visit two Hungarian companies that left a notable impression:

- OrtoProfil: OrtoProfil is an outstanding medical aid service provider specializing in crafting custom limb prostheses, electronic wheelchairs, and orthopedic therapeutic footwear, including insoles designed for flat feet and diabetic foot conditions. The remarkable quality and functionality of their products hold the potential to significantly enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities in Abia State.
- Agrár Béta Group: This bioenergy farm, comprising a biogas plant and a bioethanol factory, boasts the capacity to self-produce 1.7 megawatts of power. Beyond its power generation capabilities, the heat generated by the plant is harnessed to facilitate the drying of agricultural produce, such as mangoes. The group has also excelled in hybrid maize production and offers training in various bioenergy farm processes.
Governor Otti expressed his intention to collaborate with these Hungarian companies to facilitate their establishment of manufacturing facilities in Abia State. This partnership aims to foster job creation and contribute to the state’s economic growth. He underscored his belief that by working together with Hungarian associates, significant progress can be achieved for the people of Abia State.
Subsequently, the Governor and his delegation were graciously hosted at a reception by the Nigerian Ambassador to Hungary, Her Excellency Modupe Enitan Irele. The delegation from Abia State, which included Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, Engr. Ikechukwu Monday, Dr. Cliff Agbaeze, Mr. Chuka Ofili, Engr. Chinedu Onyeizu, Engr. Ifeanyi Clement Okorie, Engr. Christian Ikechukwu Soribe, and Chief Owelle Greg Okafor, joined Governor Otti during this insightful visit to Hungary.
