Gov Alex Otti Announces Expansion of Vital Road in Abia

In a promising turn of events, the people of Abia State are celebrating the dawn of a new era under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti.

His tenure has been marked by substantial achievements within the first 100 days, offering hope and optimism to the citizens.

One of the significant announcements made by Governor Otti is the flag-off of the expansion and construction of the Ossah Road, a crucial infrastructure project for the state. This ambitious endeavor aims to create a 3.5km, 6-lane dual carriage road, stretching from Okpara Square to Abia Tower, located off the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway.

The importance of this road project cannot be overstated. It promises to alleviate traffic congestion during peak periods, such as mass returns and yuletide homecomings. Additionally, the road’s construction will contribute to enhancing the overall aesthetics of the city, transforming its appearance and functionality.

Prior to launching this initiative, the state government diligently negotiated and disbursed compensation to 130 affected property owners along the proposed road’s path. This achievement was made possible through the assistance of professional valuers. If any affected property owners have not received their compensation, any delays may be attributed to bureaucratic processes, as the funds have already been made available.

Furthermore, to ensure the project’s quality and timely delivery, the government engaged Craneburg, a reputable international construction company. This strategic partnership underscores the commitment to excellence in executing this vital infrastructure project.
