A horrifying fire outbreak engulfed Afor Opi, a bustling market in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State yesterday evening, causing extensive damage to shops and merchandise worth millions of naira.
The fire, triggered by a gas-laden truck that crashed and exploded in the market, reduced at least three shops to ashes, leaving traders in despair.
Eyewitnesses present during the incident recounted the terrifying moments as a truck carrying gas lost control and careened into the market area. The force of the impact resulted in a sudden explosion, transforming the market into a nightmarish inferno within seconds.
