Galatasaray Secures 3-1 Victory Over Fenerbahce in Turkish Super Lig
Galatasaray claimed a dominant 3-1 victory over rivals Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig on Wednesday, with Nigerian star Victor Osimhen playing a pivotal role, providing a crucial assist.
Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli, impressed in his second match for Galatasaray. In the 28th minute, Osimhen delivered a pinpoint cross to his former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens, who chested it down and finished it perfectly to extend their lead.
Galatasaray had initially taken the lead in the 20th minute after an unfortunate own goal from Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.
Gabriel Sara added a third goal for Galatasaray in the 60th minute, while Edin Dzeko scored a late consolation penalty for Fenerbahce.
With the win, Galatasaray now lead the Super Lig with 18 points after six games, sitting five points clear of their rivals.
