In a significant development, the National/State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Enugu State has reaffirmed the victory of Engr. Osita Ngwu as the Senator representing the Enugu West senatorial district.
Engr. Osita Ngwu, who ran under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured his victory in the February 25 poll. However, his win was challenged by Nicholas Eze, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi from the Labour Party.
In a unanimous decision, the Tribunal dismissed the case brought by the Labour Party, deeming it to be lacking in merit. Furthermore, Senator Ngwu successfully defended his victory against the APC candidate, Nicholas Eze, with the Tribunal similarly ruling that the APC’s case lacked merit.
