On Monday, September 18, 2023, the Legal Defence Assistance Project (LEDAP) commenced an E-content Development training program for staff at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Academy.
The training, titled “Train the Trainers on E-Content Development,” spans a week and is sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation.
In his opening remarks, the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE1 Babashani Umar, emphasized the importance of this training in reinforcing the criminal justice system, with a particular focus on the Administration Of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) of 2015, through the utilization of E-learning platforms.

Umar noted that contemporary training methods have evolved beyond traditional classroom settings, and embracing digital learning is essential to keep pace with international best practices.
Furthermore, Head of External Cooperation, ACE II Aliyu Wali, expressed gratitude to LEDAP for its steadfast support in advancing the EFCC’s progress in E-learning Management Systems. He emphasized the significance of content development in shaping the future of the EFCC Academy’s E-learning capacity and viewed the training program as a pivotal step towards achieving the organization’s project goals and objectives.
The E-content Development training program is part of LEDAP’s commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of EFCC staff, particularly investigators and prosecutors, regarding innovations in the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) of 2015. LEDAP aims to provide technical support that complements existing resources at the Commission. This initiative aligns with the EFCC’s continuous efforts to improve its operations and contribute to the effectiveness of the Nigerian criminal justice system.
