Godwin Emefiele faces specific allegations of providing corrupt benefits to his wife, Omoile Margaret, and brother-in-law, Omoile Macombo. The allegations center around the awarding of a contract valued at a staggering N99.8 million for the refurbishment of a section in the CBN Governor’s residence in Lagos.
Furthermore, the EFCC claims that the contract for the refurbishment is being executed by Architekon Nigeria Limited, a company where both Omoile Margaret and Omoile Macombo serve as directors and hold the majority of shares.
The declaration of these individuals as wanted signals a significant escalation in the investigation, and the EFCC is expected to intensify efforts to apprehend them for further questioning and legal proceedings. The unfolding events have captured public attention, raising concerns about the alleged financial improprieties involving high-profile individuals.
