In a significant development, the Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), following allegations of sexual misconduct.
The arrest was carried out at the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), which had previously invited Ndifon for questioning regarding the sex scandal but received no cooperation.
The DSS confirmed the arrest and clarified that it was executed based on a court order, emphasizing the importance of interagency cooperation in such matters. This development comes after female students at UNICAL accused Ndifon of engaging in sexual misconduct, leading to his suspension and the establishment of a panel to investigate the allegations.
