CUHK LAW PhD Fellowships and Studentships 2024-25

About CUHK LAW:

Unprecedented Funding Support:
Admitted students into our PhD in Laws program for the 2024-25 academic year will receive substantial funding. These scholarships include:

1. Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS):

• A generous monthly stipend of HK$27,600.
• Full tuition fee waiver.
• Additional financial support with a conference travel allowance of HK$13,800 per year for three years.
• Lodging allowance of HK$40,000 for the first year and HK$20,000 for subsequent years.
• Guaranteed on-campus accommodation with the first-year hostel fee waived for HKPFS recipients.

2. CUHK Postgraduate Studentship:

• A monthly stipend of HK$18,360 throughout the normative study period.
• Full tuition waiver for local students.
• Funding for conference participation.
• Additional award of HK$80,000 for students nominated to the Research Grants Council by CUHK but not selected for HKPFS, contingent upon satisfactory study progress.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for these funding mechanisms, you must demonstrate English proficiency and hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree, or an equivalent degree, irrespective of your academic background. This equivalent degree should be awarded by a recognized university and should come with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
